Instructions
Fresh Fruit Mix
Place the fresh fruit (peaches, apples, blackberries, strawberries etc.) in a bowl.
Add 4 tbsp. sugar, 1/2 cup water, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Allow the fruit mixture to sit for a while preparing the batter mix.
Batter Mix
In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 3.4 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup of milk.
Mix it completely. It will be similar to pancake batter when finished.
Prepare Pan
Place one stick of butter in a pan and put it in the oven for just a few minutes until completely melted.
Combine Batter and Fruit
Put the fruit in the pan over the melted butter. Do not mix it. Just allow the butter to flow over the fruit.
Pour batter over the fruit.
Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg on top of batter.
Place in the oven at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Serve and enjoy. Old fashioned peach cobbler is best when served warm with a scoop of ice cream and a cup of coffee.
